ANTIOXIDANTS & FREE RADICALS: THE SECRET OF SEVEN PLUS
The vision from the beginning was to create the most efficacious multi-botanical, all-natural product the world has ever seen. The secret of eXfuze products is found in the extracts of the seven Superfoods. The power of extracts is in the antioxidant capacity or potential, which is measured and demonstrated by independent tests called the ORAC andCap-e measurements.
Initial test results have indicated that eXfuze products have the highest antioxidant potential levels available of all the liquid supplements on the market. This is no surprise given that Seven+ containts extracts from SEVEN superfoods, not just one or two superfoods in concentrate form as with competitor products.

WHAT ARE FREE RADICALS?
Free Radicals are the cause of virtually all diseases. They are atoms or groups of atoms that have an odd or unpaired number of electrons and are formed when oxygen reacts with certain molecules. Free radicals are always looking for other electrons, so they raid cells and in the process cause irreparable damage. When the "attacked" molecule loses its electron, it becomes a free radical itself, beginning a chain reaction. Once the process is started, it can cascade, finally resulting in the disruption of a living cell.
Free radical experts estimate that the DNA in each one of the trillions of cells in your body receives 10,000 hits a day by free radicals. This is the type of damage that leads to mutations and cell damage. This may lead to cancer and other diseases. Cells may function poorly or die if DNA is damaged.
Free radicals are formed daily by any number of things like breathing, eating, cigarette smoking, drinking, exercise, exposure to sun, environmental pollution, poisons like cleaners or herbicides, BBQing meat, infection, inflammation and many other things. Nothing can be done to avoid free radicals from forming in the body; they are a normal by-product of cellular metabolism.

THE ROLE OF ANTIOXIDANTS
Antioxidants are intimately involved with protecting cells from cellular damage. They are the body's key defence system to help prevent free radical damage to the body. Antioxidants are molecules which can safely interact with free radicals and terminate the chain reaction before vital molecules and cells are damaged. Although there are several enzyme systems within the body that scavenge free radicals, the priniciple micronutrient (vitamin) antioxidants are vitamin E, beta-carotene, and vitamin C. Additionally, selenium, a trace metal that is required for proper function of one of the body's antioxidant enzyme systems, is sometimes included in this category.
The body cannot manufacture these micronutrients, so they must be supplied in our diet. Our food today is generally deficient in many of these micronutrients. The more recent group of antioxidants identified are phytonutrients - carotenoids, lycopene, xantholes and flavanoids. These are generally the coloured molecules in fruits and vegetables.
While apples, oranges and bananas are common additions to many diets, more exotic fruits often loaded with valuable phytonutrients may be ovelooked. Gac, Goji, Noni, Mangosteen and Acai are just a few of the more unusual 'super' fruits that are now making a name for themselves in the health industry thanks to their impressive phytonutrient profiles and health benefits. Imagine the impact of consuming not one but SEVEN of these super fruits every single day!
